I went ahead and colored him.



The WIPs above amount to about 11-12 hours of work, and I wasn't completely happy with the way it was turning out. Then I got a new tablet, and decided to go for a partial re-do with gentler colors and more intense shadows.



Total completion time was around 20 hours, but because of the partial re-do, only 12 of those hours actually contributed to the final image.

(I'm still sitting on that art for you, yeah. I'm sort of stuck between steps and trying to figure out how to continue. Did some weird, experimental things with layer properties so that it looks good so far, but it's tricky figuring out how to do the next parts so that the layers don't interact with each other weirdly. It's like a puzzle!)

Aaaaaaaaah I've been thinking about the arts and thinking I should work on some character design that you would probably enjoy to draw (from the comic/illustrated story project thingy of mine). It's just been so hard to gather the energy to do anything at all as of late, bare eating and sleeping (and even then I don't do those properly either). I hope you don't feel bad about having the tablet without me giving you much news about commission stuff. Don't feel pressured into doing anything quickly, because I'm sure slow as hell at the moment.

I do feel somewhat guilty, but you did say at the beginning that it'd take you a bazillion years (give or take) to come up with something.

You, you specifically, having this tablet - it's definitively something that's made me feel happy this summer. That in itself is already priceless for me in the middle of all my blargh-ing and woe-ing for the past months. :P I will definitively come up with stuff to draw, I'm not forgetting.
